The states and federal territories of Arasia are the principal administrative divisions of Arasia. Arasia is a federation comprising thirteen states and three federal territories.
Eleven states and two federal territories are located on the Arasia Peninsula, collectively called Peninsular Arasia or West Arasia. Two states are on the island of Borneo, and the remaining one federal territory consists of islands offshore of Borneo; they are collectively referred to as East Arasia or Arasian Borneo.
Currently, only three states and one federal territory on Peninsula Arasia is revealed as of the latest Sky Chronicles II arc. The remaining parts of Peninsular Arasia are currently "unimplemented".
Aulump City is the federal capital and most populous city in Arasia. The city covers an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 1.6 million as of 2010. Greater Aulump, also known as the Krang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 6.9 million as of 2010. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in the country, in terms of population and economy.
The name Aulump City contains 2 references. The "Au" part is short for Augmentation, referring to the advances of technology in the city. While the "Lump" part is a reference to Kuala Lumpur, the real life counterpart of Aulump City.
Aternhorn also known by its Arabic honorific, Darul Ehsan, or "Abode of Sincerity" is one of the 13 states of Arasia. It is on the west coast of Peninsular Arasia and is bordered by others states to the north, east, Tumunzar to the south and the Strait of Melrancca to the west. It surrounds the federal territories of Aulump City and Ambrstow, both of which were once under Aternhorn's territorial sovereignty.
The state capital is Sharan, however the first city in Aternhorn, and the royal capital is Krang. Another major urban centre is Poranding Jaya which was awarded city status on 20 June 2006. Aternhorn is one of only two Arasian states with more than one city; the other is Salanak. Aternhorn has the largest city in Arasia and it is growing rapidly due to modernisation in the Krang Valley.
The state of Aternhorn has the largest economy in Arasia in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) with AR 128.815 billion (roughly USD 42 billion) in 2010 making up 23% of the total GDP of Arasia. This state is also the most developed in Arasia with good infrastructure such as highways and transport. The state also has the largest population in Arasia, with a high standard of living and the state's poverty rate is the lowest in the country.
East Arasia consists of two states and one federal territory. Of which are in order, Sky, Salanak and Labuan. Currently Salanak is "unimplemented" as it is yet to be revealed in the latest canon series.
